The Bullmastiff was created by game keepers in England to guard large estates from any unwanted intruders. They were originally known as the game keepers night dog and despite what many say, they were created from a variety of different breeds. The main hypothesis is that the Bullmastiff was created from crosses between the Mastiff and the Bulldog of old. This is incorrect, it’s well known that the breed was created from a variety of different mastiff types. These types had been bred all over the UK for centuries and were made up of Mastiffs, Bulldogs, Bloodhounds and even Greyhounds. These different types were used as the foundation dogs for todays Bullmastiff. MORE INFO COMING SOON!!!
